To Be Inspired

This week in need of inspiration I thought, what is inspiration & how does it work to be inspired?

To Breathe

The word inspiration means “to breathe into.”

In that regard, Dean Holland’s new ‘Beginners Advantage’ training has done just that and breathed a breath of fresh air on my project.

This new training on creating a business in any niche has come to my rescue just in the nick of time!!

In truth, I was beginning to feel in need of resuscitation, as it’s difficult to be inspired if you feel stuck in a rut.

Doubt will slow you down……

Inspiration creates spontaneously, so how do we measure it?

 Einstein said:

‘Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted’

That is all things of value cannot be measured.

 Choose Wealth or Health

I had been rethinking affiliate marketing or the well-being niche, so this training could not have happened at a better time.

 Discovering Your Why

The idea of the well-being niche had been growing for at least four months in response to one of Dean’s exercises in finding my why.  Why did I want to create an online business?

That experience led me to discover a deep desire to create a well-being retreat.

The Power of Clarity and Planning

Last month in one of my Power Of Ideas, posts it occurred to me, why wait to create the physical well-being space, why not start now, online?

Then in my last post, Clarity at the Crossroads, I shared various niches and a quick 5-minute exercise on how to choose a niche.

As I saw it I had three options.

  1. Have two businesses – affiliate marketing and well-being
  2. Collaborate – combine both niches or
  3. Choose Only One

This is all covered in Module 4 of the new training and I am happily following the steps.

Choose a Niche or Let A Niche Choose You?

Dean shares a variety of niches on YouTube and TikTok that are doing well and served to stimulate our little grey cells to be creative as the niches are so diverse.

I started with the well-being niche, but through Dean’s exercise, it grew. I loved my little list. Actually. There were nine. Each felt like a little child, a precious thing. ( I have had to include them here).

I share them with you in the hope that if you do this exercise you will expand your horizons far and wide and have fun choosing your very own niche!

My Potential Niches

  1. Well-being
  2. Online Courses
  3.  Journal Writing
  4. Learn Guitar
  5. Walking/Trails
  6. Books That Inspire
  7.  Motivational/Inspirational Public Speaker
  8. Life Coaching
  9. Learn to Paint (Trees)

(Because I would loathe losing any of these potential niches, It seems that they could all fit in the well-being retreat niche!!)

Market Research

But before I decide to choose a niche the next step is market research.

Even though you may like a niche, you now need to confirm that other people like it as well and are willing to purchase.

The Research Criteria – your niche needs to meet.

  1. Interest
  2. Engagement, and
  3. Number of Products available to sell.

Is there a high amount of interest in your niche, is there high engagement, and a great number of available products

Well-being or Wellness

One interesting fact that’s already shown up in the research is the use of the terms ‘ well-being‘ and ‘wellness‘. I will explore both terms and keep this variation in mind while I complete the research for this niche.

Planning For Success

The new training also includes a Planning for Success Module which I had captured in earlier posts specifically posts starting from Setting Goals For Well-being, to Why and Designing a Budget.

These ideas were recently explored in the above, and are the sources of inspiration for creating an online business and tracking your numbers.

Embracing the Journey and Setting Goals

Module 4 is all about identifying your niche so I will be slowing down and reaping the benefits of this module before moving on.

I will complete Module 4 this week (my goal for this week) and Module 5, the following week.

Encourage them Writing Words!

The act of blogging inspires me to write through any challenge or problem that I may be experiencing in growing my online business.

Inspiration seeks to communicate a vision.

A flash of inspiration brings creativity and motivation.

It is a place of beauty and clarity.

I am excited for the future and inspired by the journey.

Please leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you!

What inspires you?

Are you exploring and identifying a niche?

Dream Big,

Be Fearless.

  1. Hi Eleanor,
Great post! I really enjoyed reading it and found it very enlightening!
I so happy that you were impacted in such a positive way and at the right time regarding your niche.
I myself, haven’t gone through niche teaching yet but am very optimistic after reading your post that it may help me as well! I continue to wish you huge success as you work this out in your journey!

  2. Hi Eleanor,
Without knowing it, I think you gave me inspiration for this weeks blog: “The Power of Hope and Action”.
It’s very comforting to read everyone elses blog and figuring out that we’re on the right path and sometimes just need a little nudge to bring us back to the correct road.
Going over the different Modules Dean offers us via the Affiliate System is just that kind of nudge we need.
I was able to go over it and review what good I was doing and react to some of the bad things I was doing.
One big thing I did was to order “Eat that Frog” by Brian Tracy. Everybody looking to work on procrastination definitely needs to buy this book – it’s filled with great ways to do just that!
    All the best!

  3. Eleanor, I am so impressed by your journey of exploring different niches and the exercise of discovering your “why.” It’s such a crucial step in aligning your passion with your business goals. One thing I’d add is that this process of niche exploration and the importance of finding a clear ‘why’ are not just for beginners. Even experienced marketers can benefit from revisiting their purpose and exploring new angles. For instance, even if you’ve been established in a niche for a while, periodically reassessing your ‘why’ and experimenting with niche combinations can keep your content fresh and engaging.

Also, it’s great to see you addressing the market research aspect. Finding the right balance between what you’re passionate about and what the market demands is key. Although there is always a caveat, right? If you love something and there is no market demand, I would still stay and go for it. You never know how your true passion can inspire others and create a need or desire that never existed. If anyone is feeling overwhelmed by the process, remember that iterative testing and staying flexible can help you refine your approach without feeling stuck.

Thanks for sharing your insights! Your post is a great reminder that inspiration often comes when we are actively engaged in exploring and refining our goals. Keep up the fantastic work, and best of luck with Module 4 and beyond!
